Tyler Anderson to the injured list with an oblique strain
Los Angeles Angels’ left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a left oblique strain. Anderson has a 2-8 record with an ERA of 4.56 in 26 starts this season. His last outing was on Friday, where he allowed five hits in five scoreless innings in the 2-0 loss to the Astros. The player stated that he did not feel well during that start.Anderson isn’t sure if this injury will keep him out for the rest of the season. To fill their spot on the roster, Los Angeles has signed right-handed pitcher José Ureña. Ureña was designated for assignment by the Twins on August 23, after posting a 4.58 ERA in four games, with three starts. The 33-year-old player has also played with the Mets, Blue Jays, and Dodgers this season. The Angels are the eleventh team in his 11-year career.“I had a feeling this wasn’t going to be a good situation in the end,” Anderson said on Sunday. “Fortunately, I feel like it was my oblique in the back. I did the one in the front about 10 years ago, but with the one in the back it doesn’t bother me much to throw.
