Vince Whaley Faces a Gator and Achieves an Epic Par

In an unexpected turn during the Sanderson Farms Championship, Vince Whaley demonstrated unusual bravery when facing a dangerous encounter on the golf course. As he prepared to execute a crucial shot, an alligator approximately six feet long became a close spectator of the scene. Whaley, with his mind on the game, entered the water to make his shot on the 11th hole, a par 5. Despite the presence of the reptile, which was watching him closely, the golfer remained calm and achieved a spectacular par.

The caiman, about 20 feet away, kept its gaze fixed on Whaley. The golfer, aware of the situation, relied on his caddie to monitor safety.

Fortunately, I turned my back so I could focus on the shot for a second.

Whaley managed to get the ball out of the water and, with a great recovery, got the par. He finished the day with a card of 67 strokes, which secured him a tie for third place. When asked what he would have done if the alligator had moved, Whaley replied with humor:

The plan was to run out of the water.
