Angel Yin and A Lim Kim Lead the U.S. Women’s Open After the First Round

In an inaugural day full of emotions at Erin Hills, Angel Yin and A Lim Kim positioned themselves at the top of the U.S. Women’s Open. Yin, driven by a new putter, achieved an outstanding performance that led her to share the lead.

Yin, who started experimenting with a new putter a month ago, decided to use it for the first time in a tournament of such magnitude. The strategy worked perfectly, culminating in a birdie of 13.5 feet on the 18th hole, which earned him a score of 4 under par and a tie at the top.

“I know the U.S. Open is going to be extremely fast, so I wanted to find a putter that would hold firm and just do what I want it to do,” Yin commented. “It turned out to be this putter. I started experimenting with it about a month ago and was lucky enough to use it.”
