Spain Prepares for the 2031 Ryder Cup in Girona
The most prestigious golf event, the Ryder Cup, will head to Spain in 2031, according to the president of the Catalan golf federation. Ramon Nogué, president of the Catalan golf federation, confirmed via a phone call that the city of Girona will be the venue for this highly anticipated tournament that pits the best golfers from Europe and the United States against each other.Ryder Cup Europe issued a statement indicating that any announcements about future editions will be made at the appropriate time. This will be the second time Spain has the honor of hosting the Ryder Cup. The 1997 edition was held at the Valderrama Golf Club, in Andalusia, where Europe won the victory. The Ryder Cup this year will be held at Bethpage Black, New York, in September.“Next week it will be official” that Girona will be announced as the venue for the competition.
