The luck of the Irishman was present at the Masters!
Shane Lowry, Irish golfer, made history on Saturday by becoming the first player to achieve multiple holes-in-one in his career at the Masters. The feat occurred on the 6th hole during the third round of the tournament.
Lowry, winner of the Open Championship in 2019, used a 7-iron from the tee on the 190-yard hole. His ball, after bouncing a couple of times on the green, ended up directly in the hole.
The hole-in-one was Lowry’s second consecutive in recent events, adding to another achieved at the Houston Open.It gives you a huge boost. You go from being 6 under par to 8 under par, and suddenly you’re only four strokes from the top. It’s getting exciting. I did a great job of calming myself down afterwards.

This is the seventh hole-in-one recorded on the 6th hole in Masters history, and the first since Corey Conners achieved it in 2021. It should be noted that any player who achieves a hole-in-one during the Masters is rewarded with a crystal bowl. According to data, Lowry joins Si Woo Kim and Louis Oosthuizen as the only three golfers in the last 20 years with multiple holes-in-one in major championships. Lowry’s list of achievements on iconic golf courses continues to grow. In addition to his two at Augusta National and the recent one in Houston, the Irishman has achieved aces on the 17th hole of TPC Sawgrass and the 7th hole of Pebble Beach. It’s incredible, isn’t it? I made one a couple of weeks ago in Houston. You never expect to make a hole-in-one. I couldn’t believe it. Obviously, you’re there, competing in the Masters and making a hole-in-one. It’s great. The walk down the sixth hole with everyone around the 16th and 6th was very special. I’ll remember it for a long time. Yes, it was obviously amazing.
