Sei Young Kim Leads the BMW Ladies Championship
South Korean golfer Sei Young Kim has taken the lead at the BMW Ladies Championship, following an outstanding performance in the first two rounds of the tournament. Kim, who started with an impressive round of 62 strokes, maintained her good play with a second round of 66, solidifying her position as leader with a total of 16 under par. Kim’s performance at Pine Beach Golf Links has been notable, with seven birdies and a single bogey in his second round, including a streak of three consecutive birdies in the first half of the course.Brooke Matthews, from the United States, placed second with a round of 64 strokes, the best result of the day. Hyo Joo Kim and Rio Takeda share third place, three strokes behind the leader. Matthews’ performance, without bogeys, included birdies on the opening holes and the last two. The golfer commented that, despite not feeling completely comfortable, she managed to stay in the moment and execute a good game. Minjee Lee of Australia is in sixth place, six strokes behind Kim, while Brooke Henderson of Canada is seven strokes behind the leader. The current champion, Hannah Green, is nine strokes away. This tournament marks the start of two consecutive LPGA events in South Korea, followed by the International Crown team event next week. Last week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple wins in the LPGA season, after winning in a playoff in Shanghai.There’s a lot of pressure on the third and fourth days, but I’m not the only one. Everyone will feel the same pressure. But I just want to accept the fact and enjoy the rest of the tournament.
