Sei Young Kim Wins the BMW Ladies Championship

Seasoned golfer Sei Young Kim, with a decade of experience on the LPGA Tour, clinched victory at the BMW Ladies Championship after an impressive final round of 67 strokes. This triumph represents the 13th title in Kim’s career since she joined the circuit in 2015, ending a five-year winless streak, since her previous championship at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020. Kim, 32, finished the tournament with a score of 24 under par, with a total of 264 strokes in the four rounds played at the Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean golfer only made one mistake on the 3rd hole, but achieved six birdies in the rest of the day, comfortably securing her victory over her closest competitor, Nasa Hataoka. Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67 strokes, finishing with an accumulated score of 20 under par, with a total of 268 strokes. Celine Boutier (67) and Kim A-lim (66) were two strokes away, sharing third place. The current champion, Hannah Green, achieved a round of 66 strokes and finished in fifth place with a total of 17 under par, tied with Yealimi Noh from the United States, who scored 70 strokes. Lindy Duncan, also American, was one stroke behind, tied for seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who achieved the best round of the day, both with 63 strokes. Last week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple wins on the LPGA Tour this season, after winning a five-hole playoff in Shanghai against Minami Katsu. Thitikul did not participate in this competition, but will be part of the Thailand team at the International Crown next week. After the International Crown, two more LPGA events will be held on the Asian tour, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
