Scottie Scheffler Adjusts His Ryder Cup Preparation

The world number one, Scottie Scheffler, has revealed that he is implementing significant changes in his preparation for the upcoming Ryder Cup, after analyzing his performance in the 2023 edition.

“When I look back at the ’23 Cup, I think I tied two matches and lost two, so I think I went without winning a single match, and that hurt. I think I could have been a little sharper in that tournament. That was a learning experience for me,” Scheffler commented.

Scheffler, who failed to win any matches in the last Ryder Cup, has decided to include the Procore Championship in his schedule. This event, where he will compete alongside Collin Morikawa and eight other members of the American team, is part of his strategy to arrive in optimal condition for the tournament to be held from September 26 to 28. The golfer emphasized the importance of staying active in the competition, something he considers crucial for his performance.

“It would be unusual for me to have four or five weeks off before the Masters or the US Open or something like that. So there’s no reason why I should do that before the Ryder Cup,” Scheffler explained.

Después de empatar dos partidos y perder dos en la Ryder Cup de 2023, Scottie Scheffler dijo que está jugando golf más competitivo de cara al evento de este año porque “hay algo diferente en jugar competición, preparándose para un torneo”.
Scheffler also highlighted that, after the Open Championship in July, he began to focus and prepare for the matches at Bethpage Black, and praised the work of captain Keegan Bradley in organizing and motivating the team. “You can practice and do everything you can at home, but there’s something different about playing competition, preparing for a tournament,” Scheffler said. “Everyone is excited to be here… I feel like I’m going to the Ryder Cup this year, I’m going to be as prepared as possible and then go out and compete.” Despite being the best player in the world, Scheffler maintains a humble attitude, focusing on being ready and scoring points for his team. Bradley praised Scheffler’s selfless attitude and his ability to excel in crucial moments.
