Greyserman and Schauffele lead the Baycurrent Classic in Japan
YOKOHAMA, Japan – Max Greyserman and Xander Schauffele share the top of the leaderboard after the third round of the Baycurrent Classic in Japan. The competition took place on a rainy day, where Greyserman finished with a par of 71, while Schauffele delivered a card of 67 at the Yokohama Country Club. Both players are at 12 under par, with a total of 201. Greyserman is seeking his first PGA Tour title, after finishing second in this same event the previous year. On the other hand, Schauffele could add another achievement to his outstanding career on Sunday. His resume includes two major championships, a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, and several PGA Tour titles.Greyserman, who has shared or led solo since the first round, commented on his performance. It would be special obviously, my grandparents are here, my mother grew up here with her brother too. That’s far from now, but yes, thinking about the future, it would be an incredible feeling.

Five players are within three strokes of the lead heading into the final round: defending champion Nico Echavarria (69), Michael Thorbjornsen (66), Byeong Hun An (66), Garrick Higgo (68) and Si Woo Kim (69).Obviously, I think Xander and I are tied, so I would have liked to extend my lead, play better today and all that, but you’re not going to play great for 72 holes in a row. The conditions were difficult and I didn’t adapt well to the elements, but tomorrow is a new day.
Max Greyserman
This tournament, the only one on the PGA Tour in Japan, moved this year to Yokohama after being held east of Tokyo. The event debuted in 2019 and was won by Tiger Woods. With these conditions, I am very proud of the way I fought today to give myself a chance.
