Spain Prepares for the 2031 Ryder Cup
The Ryder Cup, one of golf’s most prestigious events, will return to Spain in 2031. The Camiral Golf and Wellness Resort, located in Caldes de Malavella, near Barcelona, will be the venue for this exciting competition. This resort, formerly known as PGA Catalunya, will become the second Spanish course to host the Ryder Cup, after Valderrama Golf Club hosted it in 1997. The Stadium Course, one of the resort’s courses, has already proven its worth by hosting DP World Tour events on three occasions, most recently in 2022. In addition, it has hosted the final stage of the tour’s qualifying school between 2008 and 2016. It will also host the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship of the tour from 2028 to 2030.Spanish golf has left an indelible mark on the Ryder Cup, with outstanding figures such as Sergio García, historical leader in points with 28 1/2, and Jon Rahm, one of the stars of the European team in recent editions. The 2025 Ryder Cup will be played in September at Bethpage Black, Farmingdale, New York. In 2027, the event will be held at Adare Manor, Ireland, followed by Hazeltine National, Chaska, Minnesota, in the same year. After Camiral, the Ryder Cup will return to the Olympic Club in San Francisco in 2033. In the 1997 edition, with Seve Ballesteros as captain, Europe defeated the United States at Valderrama. Ballesteros, along with Antonio Garrido, were the first players from continental Europe to represent Europe in the Ryder Cup in 1979. Since then, there has always been at least one Spaniard in the European team.Today’s announcement not only recognizes Camiral as one of the best venues in Europe, but also the considerable contribution that Spanish golf has made to the proud history of the Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup has grown significantly since Spain last hosted it in 1997. It is one of the most important sporting events in the world, bringing significant economic benefits and global exposure to a host region and country, so we couldn’t be happier to bring it to the Costa Brava and Barcelona for the first time, and to Spain for the second time.
