Changes to the Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony Due to Weather

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Ryder Cup organizers have decided to move up the opening ceremony by a day due to adverse weather forecasts at Bethpage Black.

Traditionally scheduled for Thursday afternoon, the opening ceremony, where the captains reveal the lineups for Friday’s first session, will now take place on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The event, presented by Carson Daly, co-host of “Today”, and sports journalist and former Miss America Kira Dixon, will see the players’ entrance onto the field amid great anticipation.

Ticket holders for Thursday will be able to access the event on Wednesday.

The presentation of the pairings for Friday’s foursomes session will be maintained for Thursday afternoon.
