Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony Moved Up Due to Weather

Farmingdale, New York – Ryder Cup organizers have made the decision to move the opening ceremony forward one day, moving it to Wednesday at Bethpage Black, due to adverse weather forecasts. Traditionally, the opening ceremony is held on Thursday afternoon. This large-scale event is when the captains reveal the lineups for the first session on Friday. The ceremony, which will feature the presentation of Carson Daly, co-host of the “Today” show, and sports journalist and former Miss America, Kira Dixon, will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The players will make their entrance on stage amid a great celebration. Ticket holders for Thursday will be able to access the Wednesday event. The presentation of the pairings for Friday’s foursomes session will still be scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
