Luke Donald Defines the European Team for the 2025 Ryder Cup
Captain Luke Donald has announced the six selections for the European team that will compete in the Ryder Cup, with the aim of achieving their first away victory since 2012. With an all-star cast already in their ranks, including figures like Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, Donald’s selections complete a team that promises to be one of the strongest in Europe in recent times. The European team, which will seek victory at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York, from September 26 to 28, will feature eleven players who were present at the last edition in Rome, where Europe won 16 1/2-11 1/2. However, recent history shows a considerable challenge: no visiting team has achieved victory since the “Miracle at Medinah” 13 years ago.Donald, who led Europe to a resounding victory in Italy, will seek to become the first European captain to win on American soil since José María Olazábal in the “Miracle of Medinah”.“Great opportunities don’t come along very often in life and I firmly believe that when they do, you have to seize them with both hands,” Donald declared.
