Reed in Search of Success
Reed, after his victory at the Dubai Desert Classic and his decision to leave LIV Golf to return to the PGA Tour, registered for next week’s Qatar Masters. This will give him four consecutive appearances in the Middle East, starting the year on the European circuit. His main goal is to achieve a prominent position in the Race to Dubai, where he currently holds second place. This would allow him to obtain full status on the PGA Tour for the year 2027.Reed was at +1 until he achieved birdies on two consecutive par 5s in the second half of the course. In both cases, his wedge shots allowed him to get close to the hole, thus securing his under-par round.Laurie Canter, who gave up his PGA Tour card to join LIV, was one shot away.
