Patrick Reed Crowned Champion at LIV Golf Dallas After Thrilling Playoff

Patrick Reed secured a crucial victory at LIV Golf Dallas, securing his first title since joining the Saudi Arabian-funded league in 2022. Reed, who led at the start of the final round, experienced an unexpected turn in his game. After a final round with a 3-over par 75, Reed recovered with a 15-foot birdie on the first hole of a four-way playoff on Sunday. The tournament took place at the Maridoe Golf Club, where the competition was intense until the last moment. Jinichiro Kozuma, with a bogey on the 18th hole and a par on his last hole, achieved a 68, which secured him a place in the playoff. The tiebreaker included Louis Oosthuizen (68) and Paul Casey (72). Oosthuizen struggled, sending his shot into the water, while Casey needed four strokes to reach the green on the 18th hole, a par 4. Kozuma, for his part, missed a 25-foot birdie attempt, setting the stage for Reed’s victory.

Getting my first victory here, as part of LIV, means a lot to me. I tried to mess it up. After making birdie on the first, it seemed like I was leaving every putt short.

Bryson DeChambeau birdied his final hole, a significant moment that knocked Jon Rahm out of the top 10 for the first time in LIV Golf. Sergio Garcia, although he was not a decisive factor in the tournament, secured his place in the number 5 position in the points ranking, which gives him a place in the British Open.
