In an exciting final of the LIV Golf League, Jon Rahm and Legion XIII defeated Bryson DeChambeau and the Crushers in a playoff on Sunday. The competition, which took place at The Cardinal at Saint John’s, saw Legion XIII tie with the Crushers at 20 under par, while the Stinger team from South Africa lagged behind with 12 under par. Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton staged a crucial comeback, achieving birdies on the last two holes of the regular round. In the playoff, they continued their good performance with birdies on the second extra hole, surpassing DeChambeau and Paul Casey. Rahm holed a 6-foot putt, while Hatton secured the victory with a short putt.

Tyrrell and I reacted a little late, but better late than never. When we got to the playoff, I felt pretty confident. We are both very good wedge players, and if we just put the ball in the fairway, I was confident we would have many opportunities.

Jon Rahm
Caleb Surratt, former Tennessee player, led Legion XIII with an outstanding round of 64.

It’s been a wild ride. I’m grateful to Jon for trusting me enough to have me on his team last year, and I’m very proud of the player I’ve become.

Caleb Surratt
Rahm and Tom McKibbin contributed rounds of 65, while Hatton signed a 66.

Neither Tyrrell nor I had a great day today, and even throughout the week, I don’t think we played our best golf. But the youngsters were a kind of beacon of strength playing well and out there today as well. They took us all the way to the end.

Jon Rahm
DeChambeau impressed with a 62.

He played incredible golf. His driver was on an absolute roll, and the putter worked.

Casey and Anirban Lahiri carded 65s, and Charles Howell III closed with a 68. Rahm and his team achieved this victory a week after successfully defending their LIV season points title in Indiana.
