In a final filled with emotion at the LIV Golf League, Jon Rahm and the Legion XIII team took the victory, surpassing Bryson DeChambeau and the Crushers in a playoff last Sunday. The event took place at The Cardinal at Saint John’s, where Legion XIII managed to tie the Crushers with a total of 20 under par. The Stinger team from South Africa finished in third place, with 12 under par.

Rahm and Hatton: The Key to Success

The duo of Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton proved their worth by registering birdies on the last two holes of the regular round. In the playoff, they repeated the feat with two additional birdies on the second extra hole, securing the victory against DeChambeau and Paul Casey.

Tyrrell and I reacted a little late, but better late than never. In the tiebreaker, I was sure that we are both good wedge players, and if we put the ball in the fairway, we would have many opportunities.

The Performance of the Legion XIII Team

Caleb Surratt, former Tennessee player, led the Legion XIII team with an outstanding round of 64.

It’s been an incredible journey. I am grateful to Jon for trusting me to be on his team last year, and I am very proud of the player I have become.

Rahm and Tom McKibbin contributed rounds of 65 each, while Hatton signed a card of 66. Rahm highlighted the role of the team’s youngsters:

Neither Tyrrell nor I had a great day today, and even throughout the week, I don’t think we played our best. But the youngsters were a beacon of strength, playing well and excelling today as well. They took us to the end.

Jon Rahm
DeChambeau, for his part, achieved an impressive round of 62.

He played incredible golf. His driver was on fire, and the putter worked.

Casey and Anirban Lahiri finished with 65 strokes, and Charles Howell III closed with 68. Howell made birdies on five of the first seven holes, but then had some stumbles. This victory comes a week after Rahm successfully defended his LIV season points title in Indiana.
