Stephen Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors and 2023 champion, was one point behind, with 21, tied with former soccer player Taylor Twellman. Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers wide receiver, scored 19 points, while former NFL quarterback Tony Romo, a three-time winner, remained at 18, tied with Alex Caruso, Oklahoma City Thunder player. Mardy Fish, also a winner in 2020, reached 17 points, sharing position with former pitcher John Smoltz and former LPGA Tour star Annika Sorenstam. Charles Barkley achieved an eagle from 88 yards on hole 2, a par 4, accumulating nine points in the round. He ranked 24th among the 90 participants.

“I had a great day today. I had a lot of fun. I played with Nate Bargatze and Larry the Cable Guy, two of the best guys. But I’ve put in a lot of time and effort, and I’m very happy with the way I played today.”

Curry shared the field with his father, Dell, and his brother, Seth.

“Obviously, it was fun playing with my dad and brother, with the matching outfits and everything, making the vibes flow. For average that I think I played, I kept the big numbers, which allows you to stay relevant. Excited for tomorrow.”
