Joe Pavelski and Taylor Twellman Lead American Century Championship
In an exciting day at Edgewood Tahoe, former NHL player Joe Pavelski and former soccer player Taylor Twellman share the lead at the American Century Championship. Pavelski, who led the first round and finished second last year, made birdies on the last three holes on Saturday, accumulating 21 points under the modified Stableford scoring system. This allowed him to tie with Twellman, who scored 23 points in his round.Jake Owen, the country music star, placed third with 41 points, after a round of 25 points. Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers receiver, was one point away, after adding 21 points. Annika Sorenstam, former LPGA Tour star, reached 37 points with a score of 20. Tony Romo and Mark Mulder, both three-time champions, are at 36 points, along with John Smoltz. Stephen Curry, champion in 2023, scored 14 points, tying with Mardy Fish at 35. Charles Barkley dropped in the rankings, losing 16 points and finishing in 61st place. Jimmy Rollins, former baseball player, achieved a hole-in-one on the 12th hole, winning a Mastercraft boat.Obviously, Twellman has been playing great. Finishing with birdie, birdie, birdie and being tied with him, I accept that every day.
