Mixed Golf Debuts at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games
The International Golf Federation (IGF) announced that the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will feature a new format: a mixed team golf competition.
This event will be composed of couples formed by a man and a woman, who will participate in the individual competitions. The competition will take place over 36 holes, divided into two rounds of 18 holes each.
Each country may submit a maximum of one team in this modality.
“Golf was incredibly successful at Paris 2024 and, as we continue to build on the momentum of Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, we are excited to attract even more attention to our sport through this additional format,” said Antony Scanlon, Executive Director of the IGF.

The mixed team competition will take place at the Riviera Country Club, interspersed between the men’s and women’s individual competitions.
