Collin Morikawa, a renowned golfer, shared details about his recovery from a back injury with ESPN’s Marty Smith. Morikawa, who was forced to withdraw from The Players Championship, indicated that his progress is positive and he has his sights set on his return at the Valero Texas Open next week.

According to Smith, Morikawa feels very optimistic about the Masters, which will be played the following week.

The two-time major champion was forced to withdraw from The Players Championship earlier this month, after playing only one hole in the first round. Morikawa took a full-speed practice swing on the tee of the 11th hole, backed off, and then withdrew.

The current world number 8 has not competed since then, which has slowed down a season in which he has achieved three top-ten finishes and a victory at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Morikawa is also part of the Los Angeles Golf Club TGL team, which faced Jupiter Links in the finals this week, but he was unable to participate due to his injury.
