Becky Morgan Leads U.S. Senior Women’s Open
CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Welsh golfer Becky Morgan, with a birdie on the 18th hole, finished the third round of the U.S. Senior Women’s Open with a par of 73 strokes, which allowed her to share the lead of the tournament.
Morgan, who turned 50 in September, is in his first participation in this event.
Corina Kelepouris, from Canada, and Maria McBride, from Sweden, also achieved an outstanding performance. Both players delivered cards of 72 strokes at the San Diego Country Club, tying Morgan at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 4 under par, totaling 215 strokes.
Liselotte Neumann and Ashli Bunch were the only other players who managed to stay under par, both with a score of 74 strokes, which placed them at 1 under par.
Juli Inkster shot a 72, finishing 1 over par, while Trish Johnson and Leta Lindley completed the round with 73 and 74 strokes respectively.
Barb Moxness, the oldest player in the tournament at 72 years old, beat her age for the second time this week, with a round of 71 strokes, placing her in ninth place with 2 over par.
Annika Sorenstam, who led the first round, finished with 4 over par, after a round of 75 strokes.
