Lottie Woad, amateur, conquers Irish Open: Historic triumph in women’s golf

English golfer Lottie Woad has made history by becoming the first amateur in three years to win a Ladies European Tour title. Her outstanding performance took place at the Women’s Irish Open, where she achieved an impressive victory with a six-stroke lead.

Woad, who holds the number 1 position in the amateur world ranking, faced the final round with a seven-stroke lead. He demonstrated his dominance on the course by recording a score of 4 under par, with a solid 69.

The 21-year-old golfer finished the tournament with an impressive total of 21 under par, surpassing Swede Madelene Sagstrom by six strokes, who placed second. New Zealander Amelia Garvey completed the podium, securing third place.

The last time an amateur won a Ladies European Tour event was in 2022, when Jana Melichova won the Czech Ladies Open.
