Thriston Lawrence Wins the European Masters
South African golfer Thriston Lawrence showed his mettle by recovering from a difficult start to conquer the European Masters in Switzerland. With a score of 66 strokes, four under par, Lawrence secured his fifth victory on the European circuit.
After bogeying the first three holes, Lawrence reacted with determination, highlighting his skill and focus on the course.
Matt Wallace (67), Sami Välimäki (65) and Rasmus Højgaard (62) shared second place, two strokes behind the winner. Matt Fitzpatrick, who is looking to secure a place on the European Ryder Cup team, finished alone in fifth position.
Lawrence’s comeback was consolidated on the 6th hole, a par 4, where he achieved an eagle after sinking a 20-foot putt. This achievement was followed by five birdies, demonstrating his dominance on the Crans-sur-Sierre golf course.
This triumph adds to his list of achievements, with his most recent victory being the BMW International Open in June 2023.
