Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im Crowned at the Dow Championship
In an exciting golf day, Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im, both from South Korea, won the Dow Championship. The event, which took place on Sunday, saw the South Korean golfers beat Lexi Thompson and her partner, Megan Khang, in a close tiebreaker. The championship definition extended to the first playoff hole, where Lee holed a birdie putt from eight feet away. Khang had the opportunity to maintain the tie, but her birdie attempt from five feet was unsuccessful, falling short of the hole. Thompson and Khang had finished the regular round with an impressive 60 under par in the fourballs format, reaching a total of 20 under par (260). Lee, for his part, had achieved a crucial ten-foot birdie on the 17th hole to tie for the lead. Both Lee and Im missed birdie opportunities on the 18th hole, which led to the tiebreaker.
This triumph represents the first title on American soil for Im and Lee, who are in their second year on the LPGA Tour. Both golfers have a successful history on the Korea LPGA, with six victories for Im and five for Lee.It’s a shame to miss the last putt in the playoff to force another hole, but I’m very happy with how we played.

Lindy Duncan and Miranda Wang shot a 59 in the better-ball format and shared third place. Manon De Roey and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard also stood out with a 64. Albane Valenzuela and Sarah Schmelzel, who were leading after 54 holes, finished in fifth place, three strokes behind the winners. The Dow Championship is the only official team event on the LPGA schedule.I can’t believe it.
