Sei Young Kim Extends Lead at the BMW Ladies Championship
HAENAM, South Korea – Sei Young Kim, with a crucial eagle on the 17th hole, solidified her lead at the BMW Ladies Championship. Kim, after a round of 3-under par (69), heads into the final round with a four-stroke lead.
In a day marked by wind and clouds at the Pine Beach Golf Links, Kim accumulated a total of 19 under par (197) in three rounds, despite a bogey on the 18th hole.
Yealimi Noh (67) and Nasa Hataoka (69) share second place.
American Brooke Matthews, who had followed Kim closely after the second round, suffered a triple bogey on the 15th hole, a par 3, which relegated her to six strokes behind Kim and left her tied for fourth place, after a round of 74.
Defending champion Hannah Green signed a card of 68 strokes, placing her at 11 under par, eight strokes behind Kim, and tied with fellow Australian Minjee Lee, who completed Saturday’s round with 71 strokes.
Brooke Henderson also recorded 71 strokes, finishing nine strokes behind the leader.
This tournament marks the beginning of two consecutive LPGA events in South Korea, followed by the International Crown team event next week. After the International Crown, two more LPGA tournaments will be held on the Asian tour, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
