CARROLLTON, Texas – Patrick Reed secured victory at the LIV Golf Dallas after an exciting playoff, marking his first triumph since joining the Saudi-backed league in 2022. Reed, who began the final round with a three-stroke lead, experienced a moment of difficulty with a 75 (+3), but recovered brilliantly. In the first playoff hole, Reed holed a birdie putt from 15 feet, securing the victory. The playoff involved four players. Jinichiro Kozuma, Louis Oosthuizen, and Paul Casey, who battled for the title at Maridoe Golf Club. In the extra hole, Oosthuizen sent his ball into the water, while Casey needed four strokes to reach the green of the par 4. Kozuma missed his birdie attempt from 25 feet, leaving the stage set for Reed.

Getting my first victory here, as part of LIV, means a lot to me. I tried to mess it up. After making birdie on the first, it seemed like I was leaving all the putts short.

Reed expressed his relief at getting his first win in his home state, Texas. Bryson DeChambeau birdied his final hole, which had a significant impact by knocking Jon Rahm out of the top 10 for the first time in LIV Golf. Sergio García, although he wasn’t a factor in the title fight, finishes the week in 5th place in the points standings, securing a spot in the British Open for LIV Golf players who are in the top five and who are not yet qualified for Royal Portrush.
