Justin Rose Conquers the FedEx St. Jude Championship in an Exciting Playoff

In a day full of emotions and unexpected twists, Justin Rose won the FedEx St. Jude Championship, after overcoming a three-stroke deficit over Tommy Fleetwood and beating J.J. Spaun in a thrilling playoff. “It was an incredible final 90 minutes. I played incredible golf down the stretch. When I play at my best, I know I’m good enough to compete and win against the best in the world. A very rewarding day for me,” Rose declared.

Spaun, for his part, did not fall behind, showing great determination. He achieved a 20-foot birdie on the 17th hole to temporarily tie for the lead and finished with a score of 65 strokes. However, Rose prevailed in the tiebreaker. The tournament also left a bittersweet taste for Tommy Fleetwood, who was close to victory. In Fleetwood’s words: “There are many positive aspects that I can highlight, although I don’t feel that way right now. I will analyze what I think I could have done and how close I was. All these experiences and these close finishes, as I say, there’s no point in letting them have a negative effect on what happens next. What would be the point? It was a great week. I did a lot of good things and, as disappointed as I am, I have to try to find the strength to turn it all into a positive experience and, hopefully, try again next time.”
