Charley Hull Crowned Champion at the Kroger Queen City Championship

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Charley Hull took advantage of an unexpected collapse on the last hole by world number one Jeeno Thitikul to secure the victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship. Thitikul, who led by one stroke after Hull recorded a bogey on the 17th hole, suffered a series of errors on the 18th hole green. The Thai player needed four putts from approximately 50 feet, missing a 5-foot putt and another from 3 feet. Hull, for his part, made two putts from about 30 feet, sinking a 2-foot putt to secure the championship.

“I wasn’t really paying attention to her birdie putt because I thought she was going to make it,” Hull commented. “But, yeah, I guess it’s not over until the fat lady sings, and I was shaking on that last putt because I wasn’t expecting it.”

Hull finished with a round of 68 strokes, four under par, for a total of 20 under par, with a cumulative score of 268 strokes at TPC River’s Bend. This is the 29-year-old English player’s third victory on the LPGA Tour, and the first since 2022, in addition to her four victories on the Ladies European Tour. Thitikul tied Hull with a round of 68 strokes. The Thai star, who won in May at Liberty National in New Jersey, missed the opportunity to become the first player with multiple wins on the tour this season. Lottie Woad of England finished in third place at 18-under par after a round of 66 strokes. Miyu Yamashita (69) finished at 17 under par, followed by the world number two, Nelly Korda (70), at 15 under par, along with Nasa Hataoka (65), Chisato Iwai (71), Sei Young Kim (69), Jennifer Kupcho (67), Mary Liu (70) and Maja Stark (69). Hull arrived at this tournament after a second place in Houston last week, as part of the Aramco series on the European tour.
