BELLEAIR, Fla. – Linn Grant showcased her skill on the course with an outstanding performance that positioned her as the leader in The Annika. With five birdies and an impeccable strategy, Grant achieved a round of 65 strokes, five under par, securing a one-stroke lead.
Grant, seeking to extend his winning streak, showed a solid game by missing only one green and two fairways at the Pelican Golf Club. His last birdie came after a successful up-and-down from a bunker on the 14th hole.
With a total of 14 under par (196 strokes), Grant is positioned ahead of Jennifer Kupcho, who also completed a bogey-free round.
Nataliya Guseva from Russia and Grace Kim also stood out in the competition. Guseva achieved seven birdies in the last ten holes, finishing with a score of 63 strokes. For her part, Kim recorded 68 strokes.
“I hit a lot of greens. I think that has been my secret this week. I trust my iron game a lot, I feel like I can attack the pins. I’m having a lot of fun out there,” Grant commented.
Grant has completed 35 holes without bogeys, preparing for the final round where she will seek her second victory on the LPGA. With previous experience on the Nordic Golf League, the Sunshine Ladies Tour, the Ladies European Tour, and the LET Access Series, Grant seeks to consolidate her success.
With limited time to achieve a victory in 2025, Grant focuses on this event and the CME Group Tour Championship.
Jennifer Kupcho, after a tough day, expressed her frustration with the pace of play, attributing it to a shorter course.
The current champion, Nelly Korda, despite some initial bogeys, managed to get closer to the top with three consecutive birdies. However, a missed putt on the 18th hole led her to finish with 68 strokes, remaining six strokes behind the leader.
“Today was like the first day when nothing really worked, but then I found some in the last holes and finished the round badly,” Korda said.
