Adverse weather conditions, specifically thunderstorms, forced the organizers to stop the game and evacuate the public. The heavy rain affected the field, preventing the continuation of the round.García arrived at the tournament in good form, following a victory in China and two top-five finishes in his last five appearances. Despite the interruption, it is anticipated that García will seek to improve his score when play resumes.
Other prominent golfers such as Ryan Fox, Wenyi Ding, Tapio Pulkkanen and Anthony Quayle, who had Steve Williams as a caddie, shared the lead in the clubhouse with a score of four under par (67).
Adam Scott and Min Woo Lee were one stroke behind, with rounds of 68. Cameron Smith, a three-time winner, finished with two under par, as did defending champion Elvis Smylie.
Marc Leishman and Cam Davis, among others, were at two under par with holes to play when the day was suspended.
There were two holes-in-one during the tournament. Kazuma Kobori achieved a spectacular shot on the 17th hole, and Daniel Gale won a BMW thanks to his performance on the 11th hole.
Cameron Smith revealed the hard work he has done to recover his short game. Smith, former world number 2 and major winner, began his round with a 69, two under par.
Smith, known for his exceptional putting and chipping game, has been working to regain his form. On the day, he achieved 10 one-putts and a total of 26.
I made a lot of good six-to-eight-foot putts, but I didn’t make anything beyond that all day, so it was good to see those go in.

Min Woo Lee was unlucky on the final hole, when his shot hit the flagstick, forcing him to settle for par.
Adam Scott, a two-time winner of the event, had bogeys on the first and last holes. Scott indicated that he would maintain a consistent approach for the weekend.
It’s a difficult field to make a lot of putts unless you get them close all the time.
