The ESPYS 2025: The Stars in the Contest
The wait is over! The 2025 ESPYS, presented by Capital One, are here. It’s time to vote and decide which stars will take home the ceremony’s top honors.
After being crowned NBA champion, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander seeks to add more accolades to his impressive season, including the regular season and Finals Most Valuable Player awards. The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is nominated in two categories: Best Athlete – Men’s Sports and Best NBA Player. In addition, the Thunder compete for the Best Team award, after their victory in the seventh game against the Indiana Pacers.
Several nominees were recognized for their outstanding Olympic and Paralympic performances in Paris.
Simone Biles and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone are competing for the Best Athlete – Women’s Sports award, while Ilona Maher and Ezra Frech are nominated in the categories of Best Breakthrough Athlete and Best Athlete with a Disability, respectively.
A’ja Wilson, winner of the Best Athlete – Women’s Sports and Best WNBA Player awards in 2024, again tops both categories. Saquon Barkley received nominations in three categories: Best Athlete – Men’s Sports, Best Play, and Best NFL Player. Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is the other NFL player, besides Barkley, nominated for both Best NFL Player and Best Athlete – Men’s Sports.
