Bryson DeChambeau wins LIV Golf Korea

Bryson DeChambeau showcased his prowess at LIV Golf Korea, taking home both the individual and team titles. His performance culminated in an impressive 48-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole, securing a score of 66 on Sunday and finishing the tournament with a total of 19 under par, 197.

This victory represents DeChambeau’s third triumph on the LIV circuit, and his first of the season. He had to overcome the strong competition from Charles Howell III, his Crushers GC teammate, who recorded a 63 (-9) and finished in second place, two strokes behind.

“Charles and I had a great battle. He never faltered today. It was fun and we had a great time, but it was intense. Super intense,” DeChambeau stated.

DeChambeau, who had not had luck in recent Sunday rounds, managed to capitalize this time. Howell, for his part, played the first nine holes on Sunday with a performance of 4 under par, reducing DeChambeau’s lead to a single stroke. The battle intensified when DeChambeau closed with six birdies to counter Howell’s advance, who got a birdie on five consecutive holes.

The victory was sealed with DeChambeau’s impressive putt on the 17th hole and a final birdie, securing his triumph.

“I feel like I’ve been playing great golf, but it just hadn’t quite translated into the result. There was a lot of tension. I’m glad I was able to step up and get it done,” DeChambeau added.

The Crushers team, also driven by Paul Casey and Anirban Lahiri, took the team title, surpassing Smash GC by nine strokes.

DeChambeau is preparing to participate in the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, from May 15 to 18, along with other LIV Golf players.
