Myles Creighton Joins the 59 Club at the Wichita Open
Canadian golfer Myles Creighton birdied the 18th hole on Saturday, becoming the fifteenth player in Korn Ferry Tour history to record a round of 59 or less. This achievement marks the second score of 59 in just three days at the Wichita Open. Adrien Dumont de Chassart had already achieved a round of 59 on the first day of the tournament, demonstrating the competitiveness and high level of play present in the event. Creighton, in his outstanding performance, accumulated 12 birdies and only one bogey, which occurred on the 8th hole, a par 3. The Crestview course, with a length of 6,910 yards and a par 70, presented significant challenges, including two par 5s of more than 500 yards and two par 4s of less than 350 yards. This milestone represents the second time in two years that two players have achieved rounds under 60 strokes in the same Korn Ferry Tour tournament. Cristobal Del Solar, from Chile, set a Korn Ferry Tour record with an impressive round of 57 at the Astara Golf Championship in Colombia. The next day, Aldrich Potgieter, from South Africa, also achieved a round of 59. However, neither player secured the victory in the tournament.
Since 2023, 18 rounds under 60 strokes have been recorded in different tournaments around the world, including a 59 on the PGA Tour this year, achieved by Jake Knapp at the Cognizant Classic.
