Stewart Cink Wins the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and Secures the Cup Title
In an exciting golf day, Stewart Cink won the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, a tournament that ended the PGA Tour Champions season. The event took place at the Phoenix Country Club, where Cink demonstrated his skill and determination.
Cink concluded his participation with an impressive round of 67 strokes, four under par, reaching a total of 20 under par (264). This outstanding performance secured him first place, surpassing Steven Alker by two strokes.
Alker, who led the ranking after the third round, finished in second place in both the championship and the overall season standings. A bogey on the 18th hole prevented Alker from snatching the title from Cink.
For Cink, 52, this is his third victory of the season and the fourth in 36 appearances on the over-50 circuit. Throughout his career, Cink has achieved eight victories on the PGA Tour, highlighting his triumph at the 2009 British Open, where he defeated Tom Watson in a playoff.
Freddie Jacobson (66), Jerry Kelly (67), and Tommy Gainey (68) shared third place, finishing the tournament with a total of 15 under par.
