Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu joins the new Cadillac Formula 1 team as a reserve driver. Zhou will support Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, who are returning after a sabbatical to compete with the American team. In addition, he will be first on the list if any of the starting drivers are unable to participate in a race. Zhou, who was Ferrari’s reserve driver last year, after three seasons as Bottas’ teammate at the Alfa Romeo/Sauber team.

We wanted a candidate with recent F1 experience, willing to work hard as part of a team and who understands the challenges of developing a car throughout the season. Zhou fits perfectly. He will be a great asset to us when we start competing in 2026.

Cadillac also has American driver Colton Herta under contract with a development agreement.
