Although thinner and more agile cars were expected to improve wheel-to-wheel racing, several drivers have expressed concerns about overtaking in 2026. Domenicali addressed the drivers’ concerns and insisted that he has no doubts about Verstappen’s long-term commitment. Furthermore, he added that “F1 as a system has always shown that technical solutions have always helped teams to be fast and drivers to be the best, so I am totally positive about it”. Domenicali concluded by saying that he hopes the comments and points of debate will evolve as the season progresses, confident that a different picture will be seen mid-season or at the end of the year.Lewis Hamilton mentioned that a university degree is needed to understand it all.
