Verstappen Secures Future with Red Bull Until 2026
Formula 1 star Max Verstappen will continue his career with Red Bull Racing for at least one more season, according to team advisor Helmut Marko. The news comes amid rumors of possible interest from Mercedes for the four-time F1 champion. A clause in Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull allowed him to leave the team at the end of the year if he was in fourth position or lower in the championship standings, according to the results of the Hungarian Grand Prix, which will be held this Sunday. After the Belgian Grand Prix, Verstappen is in third position in the F1 standings, with a considerable advantage over George Russell, who is in fourth place. This ensures Verstappen’s permanence in the team for next season.
Mercedes cars are currently occupied by Russell and potential future driver Kimi Antonelli. However, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has not denied the possibility of signing Verstappen, the driver with the most victories in F1 since his first championship in 2021. At the beginning of this month, Red Bull abruptly removed team principal Christian Horner and replaced him with Laurent Mekies. At that time, Verstappen’s agent stated that the driver remained committed to the team despite the change.“Yes, I can confirm that Max Verstappen will race for Red Bull in 2026,” Marko affirmed.
