Daniel Ricciardo Retires Permanently from Motorsport and Becomes a Ford Racing Ambassador

The renowned driver Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed his definitive retirement from motorsport. The news comes along with the announcement of his new role as a global ambassador for Ford Racing, the racing division of the oval-branded marque. Ricciardo, winner of eight Formula 1 races and a much-loved figure in the world of motorsport, joins Ford Racing, formerly known as Ford Performance, to represent its activities in the world of motorsport. The charismatic driver, known for his participation in the Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’, has expressed his enthusiasm for this new stage. “Although my racing days are over, my love for anything with wheels will always be great, and that’s why I’m proud to partner with Ford as a Global Ambassador for Ford Racing,” Ricciardo wrote.

I’m going to work closely with the Ford Racing team and will focus specifically on the incredible Raptor brand and the lifestyle that Raptor has created for many of Ford’s customers.

Ricciardo explains that, after deciding to retire, he was looking for an authentic way to stay connected to the world of motorsport. “For me, racing was always about having fun. It made me happy and created memories that will last a lifetime,” he added.

Ricciardo is expected to participate in the Ford Raptor Rally in October and other similar events during his collaboration with the company. The driver revealed that he acquired a Raptor in 2017, even before buying a house in the United States, demonstrating his passion for the brand. A source close to Ricciardo has revealed that his new role with Ford Racing will not interfere with the company’s commitments in Formula 1. Ford has stated that the rebranding aims to unify on-road and racing vehicle operations under one umbrella.
