Cadillac Confirms its Lineup for the 2026 Formula 1 Season
The expected Cadillac Formula 1 team is ready to debut on the starting grid in 2026, with a stellar lineup that promises excitement and competitiveness. According to sources close to Alofoke Deportes, the team has secured the services of two experienced drivers: Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas.
Cadillac, which will become the eleventh F1 team in 2026, has opted for experience, signing two drivers with an impressive winning record. Pérez and Bottas have a combined total of 16 race wins.
The official announcement of the lineup is expected to be made before the Dutch Grand Prix.
The team, led by Graeme Lowden, former director of the Manor team, identified both drivers as primary targets from the start of the process.
It was learned that Alpine tried to sign both drivers as possible replacements, but their offers were rejected.
Pérez, after being released from Red Bull at the end of 2024, seeks to relaunch his career. General Motors secured entry into F1 as the eleventh team last year, opting to compete under the Cadillac brand.
Although the main base of the team will be in a factory in the United Kingdom, near the Silverstone circuit, some operations will also be carried out in Fishers, Indiana, and Warren, Michigan.
GM has committed to building its own engine for the F1 team by the end of the decade, but in the meantime it will use Ferrari engines.
