Norris Anticipates an Epic Challenge at the Dutch Grand Prix

ZANDVOORT, Netherlands – Lando Norris acknowledges that he will need an exceptional performance to surpass his teammate, Oscar Piastri, and achieve victory at the Dutch Grand Prix. After qualifying in second place, Norris prepares for a race full of strategy and competitiveness. After dominating the three practice sessions, Norris was only 0.012 seconds behind Piastri in Q3. This positions him on the second row of the grid, just behind his teammate, who achieved pole position. Norris, who has conquered three of the last four races of the season, reduced the gap with Piastri in the standings to just nine points before the summer break. Now, he acknowledges that maintaining that momentum and securing a victory from second position will require something special.

The hardest rival to overtake is usually your teammate, especially in a qualifying session like today’s, where we are separated by a hundredth of a second. Therefore, I will need some magic, a good strategy or incredible tire saving or something like that.

Norris also highlighted the difficulty of overtaking on this circuit, especially when the rival is your own teammate. The McLaren driver anticipates a strategic and challenging race. Despite his excellent pace during practice, Norris was not considered the favorite for qualifying due to the narrow performance difference between both McLaren drivers.

Although he wanted to get the pole position, Norris acknowledges that the competition has been intense throughout the weekend. The driver feels confident in the team’s race pace, knowing that his main competitor will be Piastri.

Norris and his team carefully prepare the strategy for the race, aware that overtaking Piastri will be a challenge. However, the driver maintains hope and expects to be able to capitalize on the opportunities that arise in the long race.
