Lando Norris: “I don’t wish Piastri bad luck”
McLaren driver Lando Norris has made it clear that he does not expect his teammate, Oscar Piastri, to suffer setbacks in order to have options in the Formula 1 championship. Norris acknowledges that McLaren’s dominant position complicates his aspirations, but prefers to focus on his own performance.
Norris’ hopes of securing his first F1 title suffered a major blow at the Dutch Grand Prix, when his car stopped, leaving Piastri in an advantageous position. Piastri now leads with a 34-point advantage, a difference that only two drivers have failed to maintain to win the championship under the current points system, with nine races remaining.Norris stated that he prefers to focus on maximizing each result until the end of the season. The British driver also pointed out that McLaren’s supremacy can be a double-edged sword. Norris added that both McLaren CEO Zak Brown and team boss Andrea Stella apologized to him after the incident in Holland, but he holds no grudge. Norris remains optimistic and hopes the best driver wins at the end of the season. No, because in the end, if he has done a better job, I give him credit and say he has done a better job. That’s how I am.
