McLaren has led two of the three practice sessions. Mercedes’ George Russell was fastest in the first session on Friday, but finished sixth in a hotter Saturday session.

“We changed the balance a bit yesterday and that wasn’t so perfect. Today it improved, but the track temperature increased drastically during the session, we went from 33 to 42 degrees, and that makes a big difference”.

Kimi Antonelli, the Italian rookie from Mercedes, finished seventh, followed by Lance Stroll from Aston Martin, Yuki Tsunoda from Red Bull and Gabriel Bortoleto from Sauber, completing the top ten. Norris, who was also the fastest in the second session on Friday, seeks to recover after not scoring points in Canada two weeks ago, where he had an incident with Piastri.
