Lando Norris: Unwavering Confidence Amidst Challenges
In an exclusive interview, McLaren driver Lando Norris revealed his current state of mind, highlighting his unwavering confidence despite the challenges faced this season.
Norris, who is preparing for the Monaco Grand Prix, addressed various topics, from his mental approach to the fight for the title to his experience living in the principality.
Currently, Norris is 12 points behind his teammate, Oscar Piastri, in the drivers’ standings, and only nine ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
His difficulties in optimizing his performance in qualifying have resulted in a single pole position and a victory in the inaugural race in Australia, while Piastri has achieved three poles and four victories.
I think, at the end of the day, now more than ever, although I may still be disappointed or not satisfied with some things, I think deep down I have never had more confidence in myself, more confidence in my own ability, more confidence that I can go out and win than I have had before.

Despite the differences in the number of victories between the two teammates, Norris insists that his self-confidence has never been greater.
Norris’s transparency about his qualifying struggles has raised questions about his approach to the title fight, but the McLaren driver makes no apologies for seeking improvements in himself and the car.
“I am not satisfied unless I do the job I believe I can do, which is to win,” he added. “And therefore, I will be harder on myself, I will be harder on the team when necessary, because I believe that’s how we improve.
And we know that as a team, and that’s all that really matters. Because if we can work on each other, and the team helps me and I help them, then that’s all that really matters to me.
I don’t care what other people’s perceptions or thoughts are about those moments. I know what’s best for me and what’s best for the team, and we help each other bring out the best in each other.”
