Doriane Pin Crowned F1 Academy Champion in Las Vegas
Doriane Pin, representing Mercedes, secured the F1 Academy title this Sunday, surpassing Ferrari’s Maya Weug in the final race of the season in Las Vegas. Pin clinched the championship with a fifth-place finish in the competition.
Pin arrived at the last race needing a result in the top six, after her victory on Saturday. The 21-year-old driver more than fulfilled this, securing fifth place and a 15-point lead at the top of the standings, which guaranteed her the title.
The race on Sunday was won by American Chloe Chambers, followed by Briton Alisha Palmowski and Weug, who needed the victory to have championship chances, completing the podium.
It’s incredible, I can’t believe it.
