Lego joins F1 Academy with a race car in 2026

Danish company Lego and F1 Academy have announced a multi-year partnership that will see a car with the iconic Lego livery participate in the all-female racing series starting in 2026. The agreement, which was revealed during the preparation for this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, is an extension of the broader collaboration between Lego and Formula 1, which began last year. The race car, which will sport a striking combination of yellow, pink, blue, and black colors, will be driven by Dutch driver Esmee Kosterman. In parallel with her entry into the F1 Academy, Lego will launch a construction set of the car, with the aim of attracting girls to the world of motorsport from an early age. The Lego Racing team will compete alongside the cars backed by all Formula 1 teams in the series, including a new Cadillac car next year.

We are very proud to welcome The Lego Group as an official partner of the F1 Academy. This collaboration is not just about the possibility of building an F1 Academy Lego car, but about building belief in what is possible.

Wolff added that the association seeks to challenge outdated perceptions about who belongs in motorsport and empower the next generation of young women. Julia Goldin, Lego Group’s Chief Product and Marketing Officer, also shared her enthusiasm.

F1 Academy is leveling the playing field in motorsport, giving young athletes a clear path to achieve their dreams in the upper echelons of the sport.
