Charles Leclerc: “It’s not a pleasant feeling” after the Singapore Grand Prix
The Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc, expressed his disappointment after the Singapore Grand Prix, calling the team’s current situation “not a pleasant feeling.” Leclerc, who finished in sixth position, lamented the lack of competitiveness of his car against rivals such as McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes, who have achieved victories this season. Ferrari has yet to achieve any victories in 2026, while McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes have triumphed on multiple occasions, including recent wins after the summer break. George Russell of Mercedes secured the team’s second victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, while Leclerc and his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, struggled to achieve sixth and eighth positions respectively, due to brake issues.A video of Leclerc having to lift and slow down while being overtaken by the Mercedes driver, Kimi Antonelli, went viral after the race. From lap eight, basically everything was about managing those brakes. It made our race very, very complicated.

The driver added that Mercedes is now at the same level as McLaren and Red Bull, while Ferrari is in a less favorable position. The Ferrari driver explained that it is not easy, obviously, because you want to fight for better positions, but that for the moment, they feel like passengers in the car and cannot extract much more than what there is to save from what remains of the season. Leclerc also commented on the difficulty of managing the feeling of disappointment in a season like 2025.Unfortunately, we don’t have the race car to fight with those in front. McLaren always had the same gap to us compared to the beginning of the year. Red Bull took a step from Monza and the same level as McLaren.

Yes, I mean it takes a lot of energy, but that doesn’t demotivate me… it motivates me, if anything, much more to try to change the situation. But it is, I mean, it’s very hard, especially after a race like today’s, in which you’re not even fighting for a podium, you have to manage a lot of problems. It’s just not a pleasant feeling.
