Leclerc Calls Ferrari’s Las Vegas Qualifying “Embarrassing”
Charles Leclerc expressed his frustration after the qualifying session of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, calling Ferrari’s performance “embarrassing”. The Monegasque driver, who achieved ninth position on the starting grid, did not hide his disappointment at the team’s difficulties in rainy conditions. Leclerc, visibly annoyed, used the radio to express his feelings after crossing the finish line: “My God, embarrassing, fuck, embarrassing. Fuck, I don’t understand how we can be so off the pace… There’s no grip, zero grip.” Friday’s qualifying session was affected by heavy rain, forcing teams to use extreme rain tires, a rare situation in today’s Formula 1.Leclerc, speaking to F1 TV, explained that Ferrari’s problems in wet conditions date back to his arrival at the team in 2019. The driver admitted that the team has tried various solutions without success. Hamilton, for his part, also had difficulties and was eliminated in the first session. Hamilton commented: “The car felt great in the third free practice and, honestly, I thought it was going to go well. Yes, I was very excited. I thought we would finally have a good day, but it wasn’t”.Unfortunately, it’s not just today. It’s been like this since I joined the team; we’ve struggled to find grip in these kinds of conditions. It’s very frustrating because it’s probably been my biggest strength in the junior categories and then…
