Hamilton Dreams of a Successful British Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton allows himself to dream of his best result of the season at the British Grand Prix this weekend, after finishing both Friday practice sessions in the top three at Silverstone. The nine-time British Grand Prix winner joined Ferrari at the start of the season, but has yet to reach the podium in a grand prix with the Italian team. Hamilton led the first practice session at Silverstone and finished third in the second, with Ferrari emerging as the closest competitor to McLaren.

I definitely feel like we can dream of having a strong weekend, for sure.

When asked if his Friday performance could be maintained over the weekend, Hamilton added that the key will be in execution and optimizing all aspects. He also mentioned the possibility of rain on both Saturday and Sunday, which will require careful preparation. In the second practice session, Hamilton finished 0.301 seconds behind the leader, Lando Norris, losing time in two specific corners: Loop and Luffield. After eleven races fighting to maximize the performance of his Ferrari during race weekends, Hamilton already has ideas on how to improve the car’s setup for Saturday’s qualifying session.

I’m making a lot of progress now with the car. Much more comfortable knowing where it needs to be. I think in P2 we weren’t quite where we needed to be, but we know the changes we need to make for the next session.

The seven-time champion was also optimistic when considering that McLaren and Red Bull have introduced improvements to their cars at Silverstone, while the Ferrari remains unchanged since the introduction of a new floor in Austria. Hamilton described the day as “really good”, highlighting the energy of the fans and the experience of driving a Ferrari at Silverstone. In addition, he emphasized the positive aspect of remaining competitive despite the updates from Red Bull and McLaren.
