After finishing the race, Hamilton expressed his regret over the radio, acknowledging the team’s effort and promising to redouble efforts for the next race. The driver also praised the strategy and pit stops made by the team.

Hamilton had expressed his commitment to push the team, mentioning his desire to avoid the fate of other champion drivers who did not achieve titles with Ferrari. Ferrari hasn’t won the drivers’ championship since 2007, nor the constructors’ since 2008. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, achieved a podium finish, a positive result for the team that was presenting upgrades to its single-seater car. The team hoped the upgrades would reduce the gap to McLaren. Hamilton acknowledged the hard work of the entire team and the importance of the improvements, regretting his performance in the last two days.

I think everyone on the team worked really hard. Obviously we had these upgrades. Everyone in the factory worked really hard. And then when you come and have a performance like I had in these last two days, it’s difficult because that’s not what the team deserves.
